Cute And Cozy Sweater Dresses For Winter
Winter is less than 65 days away, which means it’s time to start planning for chilly season!
Once the air turns crisp and the first flakes of snow start to fall (depending on where you live of course) it's time to pivot our closets to embrace those winter wonderland vibes. You might be wondering: can dresses still have a moment when the temperatures dip? Oh, believe me, they can and they will!
From cozy Sunday brunches to winter date nights and festive holiday parties, I'm sharing must-have dresses that will keep you stylishly warm, even when it's snowing.
How to wear a dress in winter
Baby, it’s cold outside, but that doesn’t mean you can’t wear a dress! Wondering how to style a dress in winter? Here are some tips to help you rock a dress even in the colder months:
Choose heavier fabrics - Opt for dresses made from warmer materials like wool, velvet, or thick cotton blends. Sweater dresses are particularly popular during winter for their coziness.
Layer up - Wear a thermal or long-sleeve base layer under your dress (this adds warmth without the bulk) or take it a step further and toss a sweater on top!
Tights and leggings - Wearing tights or leggings under your dress can provide an extra layer of warmth. Fleece-lined tights or leggings are especially warm (these fleece-lined tights from Amazon are made to look opaque, so you get that chic look while keeping warm).
Tall boots - Pair your dress with knee-high or over-the-knee boots. Not only do they look chic, but they also provide extra warmth. Consider some cute tall socks to pair with for extra insulation and style.
Outerwear - Choose a long, tailored coat or a stylish jacket that complements your dress. Remember, your outerwear is just as much a part of your outfit as the dress itself!
Accessorize - Scarves, gloves, and hats aren't just functional—they can elevate your winter dress look!
Dress for the occasion - For casual outings, a loose turtleneck sweater dress with ankle boots might be perfect. For dressier occasions, a bodycon knit midi dress with heeled boots will keep you warm while still looking chic!
